Home to three 8000m peaks (Everest 8850, Lhotse 8441 and Cho Oyo 8188) and with an abundance of other major peaks probably makes this place the best mountain trekking area in the world. Sagarmatha National Park is completely surrounded by peaks above 6000m (except for small gap where we trek in from Lukla and few very high passes) and cut by three major river valleys divided by smaller peaks and valleys; and so giving the trekker huge scope for adventure. From the classic trek to Kala Patar, 5550m, with it’s unparalled views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori and the Khumbu Glacier to the holy lakes of Gokyo, 4790m, and Gokyo Ri (peak- 5360m) with it’s views of Everest and Cho Oyo, you can find a multitude of other options – See Below. For the more adventurous, with winter alpine mountaineering experience, there are many technical and difficult high passes and Peaks to Climb – See our Mountaineering and Everest Map sections.
