A possble addition to others or a fantastic stand alone trek. Crosses a 5000 m pass east side of the Langtang valley with fantastic views of the Langtang range, Shisha Pangma, Dorjee Lakpa and Gauri Sanka. Route then passes through remote river valleys to the lakes at Jugal Himal before entering the foothills and Helambu. Can be done from either direction and takes 7 days from Helambu to the pass, but can be joined with Panch Pokhari, Jugal Himal, Dorjee Lakpa, Langtang, Gossaikunda or Sanjin. Ganja La Pass: One of the classic passes of Nepal, walking to Kyanjing Gompa in the main Langtang valley south toward Tarke Gyang. Good equipment, some mountain experience, adequate acclimatization and local advice are essential. Usually the route is blocked by snow from early December to March.


Day 01.
10 hours drive to Syabrubesi from Kathmandu. From Dhunche, you will have views of Ganesh Himal and, you will be stopped by Langtang National Park to register your entry.

Day 02.
Crossing the bridge of Bhote Koshi and Langtang River, you will continue your way along the banks of the Langtang river. On the way you will visit a hot water spring. Overnight camp at Lama Hotel (2500 m.)following hiking up an hour and half from Bamboo to Rinje. 4.5 walking hours

Day 03.
To Langtang village (3307 m.)through Goratabela (Horse stable) and Langtang National Park Army Post. Great view of Langtang Lirung, Naya Kang, Gangchhenpo and numerous small peaks. Visit yak cheese factory and lots of Mani walls. 5 walking hours.

Day 04.
3 hours walking to Kyangjing Gompa (3,730 m.). Visit Langtang Lirung base camp and small Kyangjing monastery. Can return to Langtang village for the night to help acclimatize.

Day 05.
Day acclimatization and simply climbing up Kyanjing Ri.

Day 06.
Short walking up to Ngegang Kharka (4430m.) at Base camp, half-day acclimatization. Can return to Kyangjing Gompa for the night to help acclimatize.

Day 07.
Steeply up to Ganja La Pass (5,106m.) marked by Tibetan flags and crossing a snow slope. Great view of northern Langtang range. Decent down to Keldang (4,270m.), A very hard, steep walk down.

Day 08.
Long day walking to Dukpu (4,080m).

Day 09.
Walking down to Tarke Gyang (2,743m).

Day 10. Trail drops continuing throughout Rhododendron forest, Tsortens and numbers of Mani walls on the way to Kiul (1280m).

Day 11.
Descending down along the riverbank to Talamarang (940m) and climbing to Patibhanjyang (1770m) where Helambu circuit is completed.

Day 12.
Down to Sundarijal and drive back to Kathmandu.
